True Crime Scholar
At True Crime Scholar, we approach unsolved mysteries with the same rigor scholars apply to complex problems. We don’t just tell stories—we test them.
Our books are designed to do more than entertain. They challenge assumptions, map alternative theories, and invite readers to think like investigators. Using logic, structured analysis, digital forensics, and evidence hierarchies, we transform each case into a real-world critical thinking exercise.
We believe the true crime genre can be better—more ethical, more intelligent, and more useful. That’s why every chapter includes:
- Fact vs. Speculation Labels
- Scholarly Tools (like Occam’s Razor, Cognitive Bias Mapping, and Victimology)
- Law Enforcement Insights from a seasoned practitioner
- Reader Prompts for self-reflection, discussion, or classroom use
Our first book, The Scholar’s Guide to True Crime: The Case of Maura Murray, explores one of the most haunting disappearances of the 21st century—using academic reasoning, not internet rumor. It’s the starting point for a series that will tackle other unresolved cases with clarity and care.
This project is for:
- Readers who want more than armchair speculation
- Students who want to apply what they learn
- Educators looking for ethical, engaging content
- Web sleuths ready to sharpen their thinking
Welcome to the place where passion meets precision.
Why This Project Exists
We created True Crime Scholar to explore one question: How can we make true crime smarter?
Each of our books presents unsolved cases not just as narratives, but as puzzles to analyze. We equip readers with analytical tools—like logic models, digital forensics, and ethical evaluation checklists—to practice thinking clearly in the face of uncertainty.
Our flagship case, The Disappearance of Maura Murray, is available now. Future volumes will explore other unresolved cases using the same method: story first, structure second, insight always.
